The house buying process is finally over!

I got a house!!!

Story Time

We put an offer on the green house (literally it was all painted green…ugly) and the next day we were on our way to it again to show my parents when our realtor called and said there is another house that just came on the market and we should look at it. Keep in mind, we hadn’t heard a “yes” or “no” from the green house.

So we mosey on over to the blue house (it’s a light baby blue color) All updated, new floor, carpet, kitchen, back yard, fence, roof (TIP: When looking at houses…make sure they have new or new-ish roofs…it saves you a TON of money) It was the whole package.

So we sat in the kitchen and was like “well, we like this house better…what do we do now?” and literally after we said that, the realtor from the green house e-mailed our realtor and said the seller accepted our offer.

CRAP! So we had to go home and write up paperwork that basically says “I’m taking back my offer” then we wrote up a NEW offer for the blue house.

The next day at about 4:00 we got word that our offer was accepted!! So this week is going to be filled with lots and lots of paperwork and home inspections and such. We’ve already forked out $1,000 for Earnest money (bleh!)

Today, we have a meeting with our lender to sign more papers, then we have to go get home insurance, then I have to call an inspector. THERE’S SO MUCH TO DO WOW

Excepted move in date: October 1st. 38 more days.

P.S. Thank you to all the people who followed my house buying process and thanks for all the encouraging words when I would get rejected with a different house. You all helped me get through it! πŸ˜€
